Micah

Micah

The prophet Micah preached to the southern kingdom of Judah during a period of spiritual decline, delivering messages of both judgment and restoration. He powerfully condemns the nation's greedy and corrupt leaders—including priests, prophets, and judges—who exploited the poor and neglected justice. Micah announces that God will judge their wickedness by destroying both Samaria and Jerusalem. However, Micah's message also contains some of the most beautiful messianic prophecies, foretelling that the future Ruler of Israel would come from the seemingly insignificant town of Bethlehem. Furthermore, he encapsulates true religion with the famous command: "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"
