1 Chronicles 12

1 Chronicles 12

This chapter lists the various groups of mighty men who voluntarily defected and joined David during the time he was hiding from King Saul. It records warriors from the tribes of Benjamin, Gad, and Judah, including men whose faces were like lions and who were as swift as gazelles. The chapter culminates with a massive gathering at Hebron where a huge, unified army arrives to crown David king over all Israel. The sheer number and devotion of these men demonstrate God’s hand in uniting the tribes under David's leadership.
