Learning from the previous failure, David prepares Jerusalem for the Ark’s arrival, building a new tent for it and consecrating the Levites to carry it on poles as the Law requires. David commands the Levites and priests to sing and play music with all their might. With great celebration and sacrifice, the Ark is finally brought into the City of David. Michal, Saul’s daughter and David’s wife, watches from a window and despises David for dancing before the Lord with such joyful abandon.
