1 Chronicles 25

1 Chronicles 25

The musical and prophetic element of Temple worship is established. David sets aside the singers—the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun—dividing them into twenty-four groups by lot. These singers were responsible for prophesying (or ministering) through musical instruments and song, ensuring a permanent and organized role for music in the formal worship of God in the Temple.
