1 Corinthians 4

1 Corinthians 4

Paul defends his ministry and that of the apostles, stating they should be regarded as mere servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. He stresses that the main requirement of a steward is to be found faithful. Paul chastises the Corinthians for their arrogance and self-sufficiency, contrasting their comfortable pride with the apostles' suffering and hardship. Paul tells them he is sending Timothy to remind them of his spiritual guidance and way of life in Christ.
