1 Kings 13

1 Kings 13

A Man of God from Judah confronts Jeroboam while the new Northern King is offering sacrifices at his new altar in Bethel, condemning the idol worship. The Man of God prophesies that a future king, Josiah, will desecrate the altar. When Jeroboam tries to seize the prophet, his hand is miraculously withered, and the altar splits. The prophet refuses to eat or drink in the Northern Kingdom as God commanded. Later, he is deceived by an old prophet and disobeys God's command, leading to his death by a lion on the road.
