1 Kings 15

1 Kings 15

This chapter records the reigns of two wicked kings of Judah (Abijam and Asa) and two kings of Israel (Nadab and Baasha). Asa, the third king of Judah, is noted for bringing a period of reform, removing idols and prostitution from the land, though he failed to completely remove the high places of worship. In the North, the prophecy against Jeroboam's house is fulfilled when Baasha assassinates Nadab, destroying the entire line of Jeroboam and taking the throne, thus beginning a new, wicked dynasty in Israel.
