1 Kings 17

1 Kings 17

God sends the prophet Elijah the Tishbite to King Ahab, declaring that there will be a severe drought in Israel—no rain or dew—until Elijah announces it. God hides Elijah by the Brook Cherith, where he is miraculously fed by ravens that bring him bread and meat. When the brook dries up, God sends Elijah to Zarephath. He finds a poor widow preparing her last meal, but when she obeys Elijah, her jar of flour and jug of oil miraculously do not run dry throughout the famine.
