1 Kings 7

1 Kings 7

This chapter details the construction of Solomon’s Palace Complex, which took thirteen years to build (significantly longer than the Temple). The complex included the House of the Forest of Lebanon (an impressive hall with four rows of cedar pillars), the Hall of Pillars, and the Hall of the Throne (where Solomon administered justice). The chapter then focuses intensely on the bronze furnishings for the Temple, including two immense bronze pillars (Jachin and Boaz), the massive Bronze Sea (a large basin for the priests to wash), and ten water carts.
