1 Peter 1

1 Peter 1

Peter addresses Christian exiles scattered throughout the Roman provinces, praising God for the living hope believers have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This hope secures an inheritance in heaven that can never perish. Peter assures them that their trials and suffering are only temporary, meant to test and refine their faith, which is more precious than gold. Believers must prepare their minds for action and be holy in everything they do, just as the God who called them is holy.
