1 Samuel 23

1 Samuel 23

David miraculously rescues the city of Keilah from the Philistines. He then inquires of the Lord whether the citizens of Keilah will hand him over to Saul. God warns him that they will. David and his six hundred men flee into the Wilderness of Ziph. Jonathan finds David in the wilderness and encourages him, strengthening David's hand in God, and promises that David will be king. However, the Ziphites betray David to Saul, forcing David to barely escape as Saul closes in on him at the Rock of Escape.
