1 Samuel 26

1 Samuel 26

The Ziphites again betray David, telling Saul where David is hiding. Saul pursues David with three thousand men. David and his men sneak into Saul's camp at night and find Saul sleeping, with Abner, his general, nearby. David's men again urge him to kill Saul, but David refuses. Instead, David takes Saul's spear and water jug as evidence he spared his life. David then calls out to Saul, showing the items. Saul is humbled and confesses his sin, promising not to harm David again.
