Hannah fulfills her vow and brings the young child Samuel to the sanctuary at Shiloh, dedicating him to serve God under the guidance of Eli the priest. She then sings a powerful, prophetic song of praise known as Hannah's Prayer, which celebrates God's power to humble the proud and lift up the lowly. The chapter then highlights the wickedness of Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, who abuse their priestly duties and commit sexual sin at the Tabernacle. God warns Eli that his family will be judged for their actions.
