1 Samuel 9

1 Samuel 9

A wealthy, handsome man named Saul, son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, is searching for his father’s lost donkeys. His servant suggests consulting the famed seer, Samuel. Unknown to Saul, God has already revealed to Samuel that he is sending the man who will be the first king. Samuel welcomes Saul, honors him with a feast, and privately anoints him with oil. Samuel tells Saul that the donkeys have been found and gives him three prophetic signs to confirm his divine appointment as ruler over Israel.
