1 Thessalonians 5

1 Thessalonians 5

Paul assures the believers that they do not need to know the exact timing of the Lord's return ("the day and the hour"), because it will come like a thief in the night. He urges them to live as children of the light, remaining alert and sober while the world remains asleep in darkness. Paul gives a series of practical commands: be at peace with one another, warn the idle, encourage the timid, and help the weak. He closes with the commands to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances.
