1 Timothy 4

1 Timothy 4

Paul warns Timothy that in later times, some people will abandon the faith, following deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. These false teachers will promote hypocrisy and forbid marriage and the eating of certain foods. Paul instructs Timothy to reject these worldly myths and instead train himself for godliness, reminding him that godliness holds promise for both the present life and the life to come. Paul encourages Timothy to set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.
