1 Timothy 6

1 Timothy 6

Paul addresses slaves, commanding them to show full respect to their masters, whether believing or unbelieving. He warns against false teachers who view godliness as a means to financial gain. Paul states that godliness with contentment is great gain. He gives the famous warning that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Paul commands Timothy to fight the good fight of the faith and instructs the wealthy to be rich in good deeds, generous, and ready to share.
