2 Kings 21

Manasseh, Hezekiah’s son, reigns for fifty-five years, becoming the most wicked king in Judah’s history. He rebuilds the pagan high places, restores Baal worship, sets up an Asherah pole in the Temple itself, and engages in child sacrifice and sorcery. He sheds so much innocent blood that he fills Jerusalem from end to end. God declares that because of Manasseh’s terrible sins, He will bring disaster upon Jerusalem and will wipe it clean like a dish. The short, wicked reign of Manasseh’s son, Amon, follows.
