2 Kings 9

2 Kings 9

Elisha sends one of the young prophets to the army camp at Ramoth-Gilead to anoint Jehu as king over Israel, commanding him to utterly destroy the wicked house of Ahab and Jezebel. Jehu is proclaimed king by the soldiers and immediately speeds off to Jezreel. Jehu confronts King Jehoram of Israel and shoots him with an arrow. Jehu continues to Jezreel and orders the execution of Queen Jezebel, who is thrown from a window and is instantly devoured by dogs, fulfilling Elijah's brutal prophecy.
