2 Peter 3

Peter addresses the scoffers who mock the promise of Christ's return, asking, "Where is this 'coming' he promised?" Peter reminds them that God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. He explains that the Lord's return will come unexpectedly, like a thief, and the heavens will be destroyed by fire. He urges believers to live holy and godly lives as they wait for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
