2 Samuel 10

2 Samuel 10

The king of the Ammonites dies, and David sends officials to express condolences to his son, Hanun. Hanun’s advisors convince him David’s men are spies. Hanun severely humiliates David’s men by shaving off half their beards and cutting their robes in half. The Ammonites then hire the mighty Syrian army to prepare for war against Israel. Joab leads the main Israelite army and defeats the Ammonites and Syrians, forcing the Syrians to make peace with Israel after suffering a massive defeat.
