2 Samuel 9

2 Samuel 9

David, remembering his covenant with Jonathan, asks if any of Saul's descendants remain so that he may show them kindness. He finds Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, who is lame in both feet. David restores to Mephibosheth all the land of his grandfather Saul and invites him to eat at the King’s table for the rest of his life. Mephibosheth, overwhelmed by this unexpected grace, accepts. This act fulfills David’s promise to Jonathan and demonstrates the king's compassionate faithfulness.
