3 John 1

3 John 1

John writes a letter to his beloved friend Gaius, commending him for his faithfulness and hospitality toward traveling missionaries, even those he didn't know personally. John then condemns a man named Diotrephes, who loved to be first, refused to welcome the apostles' representatives, and was actively hindering others from showing hospitality. John promises to deal with Diotrephes's malicious talk and wicked deeds when he arrives. He encourages Gaius to continue to imitate what is good.
