Acts 1

Acts 1

Luke addresses Theophilus again, summarizing Jesus’s post-resurrection ministry. Jesus appears to the disciples for forty days, speaking about the Kingdom of God. He commands them to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Holy Spirit and assures them they will be His witnesses from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Jesus then ascends into heaven on a cloud. The disciples then choose Matthias to replace Judas Iscariot, restoring the number of the apostles to twelve.
