Acts 25

Acts 25

Festus replaces Felix as the new governor. The Jewish leaders immediately ask Festus to send Paul to Jerusalem so they can ambush and kill him on the way. Festus refuses and orders Paul to stand trial in Caesarea. When Festus asks if Paul is willing to stand trial in Jerusalem, Paul, knowing he will not receive a fair hearing, declares, "I appeal to Caesar!" This appeal secures his legal right to be tried in Rome. Festus later discusses the strange case with King Agrippa.
