Acts 5

Acts 5

The danger of hypocrisy is shown when a couple, Ananias and Sapphira, sell a piece of property but lie to the apostles about giving the full amount to the church. Peter confronts them, emphasizing that they lied not to men, but to the Holy Spirit. Both Ananias and Sapphira fall down and die immediately. The apostles continue to perform many signs and wonders. The high priest has the apostles arrested, but an angel releases them from prison, commanding them to preach in the temple.
