Acts 8

Acts 8

A severe persecution breaks out against the church in Jerusalem, scattering the believers (except the apostles) throughout Judea and Samaria. Saul (later Paul) aggressively leads the persecution. Philip travels to Samaria and preaches the gospel, performing great signs. A sorcerer named Simon tries to buy the power of the Holy Spirit from Peter and John and is sternly rebuked. Philip is then led by an angel to encounter an Ethiopian official reading Isaiah. Philip explains the Scripture, and the official is baptized.
