Deuteronomy 3

Moses concludes the review of the successful conquests east of the Jordan River—the defeat of King Og and the large territory of Bashan. Moses then describes how he distributed these conquered lands to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, settling them immediately. He also recounts his own plea to God to be allowed to enter the Promised Land, which God denied due to the incident at Meribah. Moses warns Joshua, his successor, to be strong and fearless, knowing God will give them victory.
