Ecclesiastes 11

Ecclesiastes 11

This chapter encourages bold, diligent, and generous action despite uncertainty. It urges the reader to "Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days," meaning to invest widely and generously without knowing the outcome. It reminds the reader that since the future is unknown, one should work diligently, for we do not know which endeavor will prosper. The Preacher encourages enjoying the days of life and light, but reminds the young man that God will bring him into judgment for every deed.
