Ecclesiastes 12

Ecclesiastes 12

The book concludes with a final exhortation to "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth," before the inevitable physical decline of old age sets in—described vividly with poetic metaphors of failing eyesight, weak knees, and the breaking of the golden bowl. The Preacher summarizes his findings, reiterating that all is vanity. The conclusion of the whole matter is to fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man, and God will bring every secret thing into judgment.
