Ecclesiastes 2

Ecclesiastes 2

The Preacher resolves to test life by pursuing pleasure and folly. He devotes himself to massive building projects, acquiring vineyards, gardens, great wealth, countless servants, and many women—everything his heart desired. Yet, after achieving all this, he found that even these grand pursuits were vanity and a chasing after wind. He notes that the wise man and the fool both face the same fate: death. He concludes that all his labor was useless and that the only good in life is to eat, drink, and find enjoyment in one's toil, which is a gift from God.
