Ecclesiastes 5

Ecclesiastes 5

The Preacher offers practical advice on proper conduct in worship and business. He warns the reader to guard their steps when going to the house of God, urging them to listen rather than rush to speak, especially when making vows to God. He warns against loving money, because whoever loves wealth is never satisfied. The Preacher observes that the sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of the rich man keeps him awake with worry. He reminds the reader that wealth can be a painful vanity.
