Esther 2

Esther 2

Beautiful young women are gathered from across the Persian Empire to the palace to compete to be the new queen. Among them is a Jewish orphan named Hadassah, who is raised by her cousin, Mordecai, a palace official. Mordecai instructs Hadassah to conceal her Jewish identity, and she takes the Persian name Esther. After twelve months of beauty treatments, Esther is brought before the King, who loves her more than any other woman and places the royal crown on her head, making her Queen. Later, Mordecai overhears two guards plotting to assassinate the King and reports the plot, which is recorded in the royal chronicles.
