Exodus 16

Exodus 16

The Israelites begin to complain bitterly in the wilderness of Sin, fearing they will starve to death, reminiscing about the food they had in Egypt, despite their slavery. God assures Moses that He will provide. God then sends manna (literally "What is it?") from heaven, raining down six mornings a week to be collected and eaten. He also sends quail in the evening to provide meat. God instructs them to gather only what is needed for the day, except on the sixth day, when they must gather enough for the Sabbath rest.
