Exodus 23

Exodus 23

God establishes laws designed to govern fair treatment and righteous conduct in the courts and community. These rules include giving honest testimony (avoiding false reports) and ensuring impartiality in judgment (no favoring the rich or the poor). It also includes agricultural laws, requiring the land to rest every seventh year and commanding the observance of the three annual pilgrimage festivals: the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering. God promises to send an angel ahead to protect them and drive out the inhabitants of Canaan.
