Exodus 24

Exodus 24

Moses and the elders ascend Mount Sinai, and the covenant is formally ratified. Moses reads the Book of the Covenant to the people, who respond unanimously, "All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do." Moses then seals the covenant by sprinkling half the sacrificial blood on the altar and half on the people. Moses, Aaron, and the elders see a glorious vision of God. Moses then enters the thick cloud on the mountain, where he remains for forty days and forty nights to receive the stone tablets of the law.
