Exodus 25

Exodus 25

God gives Moses detailed instructions for the building of the Tabernacle (the portable tent sanctuary) and its furnishings, to be built from freewill offerings of gold, silver, bronze, fine linen, and precious stones donated by the people. The Tabernacle's purpose is central: it is the place where God will dwell among His people. Specific plans are given for the Ark of the Covenant (which holds the stone tablets), the Mercy Seat (where God's presence will rest), the table for the Bread of the Presence, and the golden lampstand.
