Exodus 27

Exodus 27

God provides the plans for the courtyard of the Tabernacle and the large, central furnishing within it. The courtyard enclosure must be made of fine linen curtains and fenced off with pillars. The main courtyard furnishing is the altar for burnt offerings, a large bronze structure where animal sacrifices will be made. The chapter also details the required perpetual upkeep: the priests must use pure olive oil to keep the golden lampstand inside the Tabernacle continually burning, symbolizing the unceasing presence of God.
