Exodus 28

Exodus 28

God sets aside Moses’s brother Aaron and his sons to be the priests who will mediate between God and the people. Detailed instructions are given for the sacred vestments (clothes) of the high priest, which are designed for glory and beauty. This includes the ephod (a linen vest) and the breastpiece, which is set with twelve precious stones, each engraved with the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. This symbolized the high priest carrying the names of God's people before Him.
