Exodus 2

Exodus 2

A Hebrew woman saves her baby son by placing him in a woven basket among the reeds of the Nile River. The baby is discovered by Pharaoh’s daughter, who decides to adopt him, naming him Moses (meaning “drawn out”). As Moses grows up in the Egyptian court, he witnesses the abuse of his Hebrew kin. Seeing an Egyptian taskmaster beating a Hebrew slave, Moses kills the Egyptian and hides the body, forcing him to flee into the wilderness to Midian, where he marries Zipporah and becomes a shepherd.
