Ezekiel 12

Ezekiel 12

Ezekiel performs a symbolic drama to show the people their king's imminent exile. Ezekiel is commanded to pack a traveler's baggage and, in the twilight, dig through the wall of his house with his own hands and carry his bags out, covering his face so he cannot see the ground. This symbolizes King Zedekiah and the people attempting to escape Jerusalem at night after the city walls are breached. God confirms that Zedekiah will have his eyes put out and be carried to Babylon.
