Ezekiel 16

Ezekiel 16

This chapter uses the elaborate allegory of a rejected baby girl to depict Jerusalem's history. God describes finding the infant Jerusalem abandoned, cleaning her, clothing her richly, and entering into a covenant with her, making her beautiful and royal. Jerusalem then became arrogant and used her beauty to become a prostitute, multiplying her harlotry more than the surrounding nations. God promises harsh judgment, but concludes with a future promise to remember the covenant of her youth and restore her.
