Ezekiel 18

Ezekiel 18

God addresses the people's common saying: "The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge." God strongly rejects this proverb, declaring, "The soul who sins shall die." God teaches that judgment is based on individual righteousness, not generational guilt. If a wicked man truly repents and lives justly, he will live. If a righteous man turns to wickedness, he will die in his sin. God pleads with the people to repent and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.
