Ezekiel 1

Ezekiel 1

The book opens with the prophet Ezekiel by the Chebar Canal in Babylon, five years into his exile. He sees a terrifying vision of God's glory. The vision centers on four living creatures (each with four faces: man, lion, ox, and eagle) that possess four wings and straight feet. These creatures are linked to four wheels full of eyes, moving rapidly with the creatures. Above them is a glorious throne upon which is the likeness of the glory of the Lord, which causes Ezekiel to fall on his face.
