Ezekiel 21

Ezekiel 21

God commands Ezekiel to prophesy to Jerusalem using the symbol of a sharpened sword. The sword is prepared for great slaughter, starting with the righteous and the wicked. The sword is passed to the King of Babylon, who stands at the crossroads of the cities, using divination (arrows, idols, and liver reading) to decide which path to take. God declares that the crown will be taken from wicked King Zedekiah and given to no one until He comes whose right it is (the Messiah).
