Ezekiel 2

Ezekiel 2

God speaks to the terrified Ezekiel, calling him "Son of Man". God commissions Ezekiel to go to the rebellious house of Israel, warning him that they are a nation of hard faces and stiff necks who will likely not listen. God tells Ezekiel not to be afraid of their words or their defiant looks. God commands Ezekiel to open his mouth and eat a scroll containing the words of lamentation, mourning, and woe. By consuming the scroll, the prophet internalizes the message he must deliver to the people.
