Ezekiel 32

Ezekiel 32

This chapter contains a lamentation over Pharaoh, King of Egypt. Ezekiel is commanded to sing a mournful song comparing Pharaoh to a young lion among the nations. The lament describes Pharaoh's terrible death and descent into Sheol (the grave). Ezekiel sees the ghosts of other powerful, fallen nations (Assyria, Elam, Meshech) who now lie disgraced in the pit. The message is clear: the great, proud kingdom of Egypt will join the ranks of the vanquished and be defeated by the sword.
