Ezekiel 37

Ezekiel 37

Ezekiel sees the famous vision of the Valley of Dry Bones. God commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones, asking, "Can these bones live?" As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones rattle, join together, and flesh covers them, but they still lack breath. Ezekiel then prophesies to the wind (Spirit), and breath enters the bodies, creating an exceedingly great army. This vision symbolizes the spiritual resurrection and restoration of the entire nation of Israel from their hopeless state of exile.
