Ezekiel 38

Ezekiel 38

This chapter introduces the prophecy against Gog, of the land of Magog, a leader of a vast, future coalition of nations (Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, etc.) from the north. God declares that He will put hooks in Gog's jaws and bring him and his massive army against the mountains of Israel in the latter years. Gog's motive is to take plunder and booty from God's people. God vows to display His holiness by personally engaging Gog in battle, bringing a massive earthquake and consuming Gog's forces.
