Ezekiel 5

Ezekiel 5

God commands Ezekiel to cut his hair and beard into three equal parts. One-third is to be burned, one-third is to be struck with a sword, and one-third is to be scattered to the wind, symbolizing the three ways the inhabitants of Jerusalem will perish (fire, sword, and scattering/exile). God declares that this judgment is happening because Jerusalem has been more rebellious than the nations around her. God promises to execute severe judgments and make Jerusalem a spectacle to all the nations.
